AHJA Kick Off Show
AHJA Kick-Off Show:
"All we do is WIN, WIN, WIN, no matter what! What an awesome weekend we had in Fayette, AL. Aside from the tornadoes, we brought A Good Year, Muddy Waters, Wee Deoch An Doris, Grey Goose, and Toaster Strudel to play at the AHJA Kick-Off Show. On Friday, there was hard competition, but A Good Year came out with a second and fifth over fences in the Staring Hunter. This was Wee Deoch An Doris' first horse show, he received a fourth over fences in a large class of 13. It was only his second time jumping a course. GO TURTLE! On Saturday, Toaster Strudel with Monica McGwier competed in Schooling Hunter against professional riders in the covered arena. There were 15 in their class and they placed in every single class! Muddy Waters and Blythe Brock competed for their first time at 2'6 in the Thoroughbred Hunters and was Reserve Champion! A Good Year and Jessica Kendrick both had a learning day in Short Stirrup on Saturday, but by Sunday she won her first Over Fence class and was Reserve Champion in the division. And finally, Grey Goose with Kelsey Horowitz showed in the non-Thoroughbred Hunters on Saturday and Sunday were they won all of their classes and was double Champion. On Saturday Evening, Grey Goose and Kelsey also competed in the $1500 Hunter Derby against top horses in the Nation. In their first round, they received a score of 82 and then in their second round they received a score of 86. With these scores combined, Grey Goose and Kelsey were the WINNERS of the Hunter Derby! We are very proud of all of our H & G riders/trainers/parents/horses/ponies that were able to make this experience enjoyable and worthwhile. GO TEAM H & G!!!!!"
