May 15-16 H&G Hunter Show & Clinic with Woody Dykers
The show was a big success and a great day for our riders. We would like to thank Aimee J, the Royers and Sylvia N. for participating as well. It was a "first" horse show for many of our riders and they all did great!. The special awards this weekend go to....Most Helpful to Tami. Being the new secretary she is still learning the ropes but she was awesome and informative to all. Keep it up! Best Attitude goes to Zach Peterson whom was honorary jump crew and got a nice farmers tan while Kassie trained. Shining Star goes to April Thrift. It was her first show and she had the biggest fan club and smile. Watch out for her as she continues to learn and grow. And our newest award - Crash and Burn - goes to Kristina Vance who so graciously slid of Mav into a jump. Great show for her in-laws & hubby who came to watch. The clinics with Woody after the show and Sunday were awesome. All riders learned so much and what to work on in the future! Thanks Mr. Woody!

Not too early of a morning for us and all the horses loaded great so we pulled out just after 7:23. Thank goodness Greg knew the route! Six horses and riders schooled while the other six hung on the trailer till lunch break. Katelyn and Lucy had a great day in cross rails with lots of seconds. Ansley and Tucker were champ in 18' with Olivia and Pandora right behind them as Reserve Champ. Bean and Star were champ in Long Stirrup and Monica was reserve champ on annie in long stirrup, Goldie and Tay were Champ in short stirrup. Then lunch break....more schooling! Flirt and Goose were Champ in 2'3, Jerky and Cas put in great courses on the babies - Nicole and Ellie and they had great a first horse show experience. Ruger and Bre competed at 2'3-2'6. Ruger was in a mood. Razz and Slurps were Reserve in the 2'6 and are now no longer to show in anything below 2'9. Moose and Lifey had great rounds in the 2'9 and were champ! Funny moments: tammy scaled a fence, "Oh yeah right!", Tays new nick name it pit stains. Lifey complains the most. The sassy asian man. Jerky was a forester. thanks to susan we all know the history of the word honeymoon. Greg floored Susans truck. Goldie makes a special noise of the jumps. Katelyn and "all I here is wind". Slupry is jen's fav b/c she still lets her do her hair. Our group was mistaken for concession stands. Monica was the photographer but did not know who H&G kids were. Claire does not care about Lucy. Tim aka Daddy Day CareJen's Rule #1 - Do not hold hands with a boy at a horse show or I will break you in half and pee on you.

They made a nice spot on the hill and Barbara was under a tree. Ginger Cherokee. Cassie was Jen's excuse for not going out. Barbara and the syrup...."S-Y-R-U-P!!!" On a more serious note....competition was at its best and our riders were right there in the top! Olvia and Misty were Champ sat and reserve champ sun in SS. Feb 19-21 Elite "A" at H&G
Great weather and a great weekend at home for those that showed! Our jumpers were VERY well represented with Cassie, Sterny and Dana. Angel was 2nd in the $500 Elite Jumper Classic. Lotto was Reserve champ in the 2'9 Jumpers and Tucker went Champion in the 3'1 and 3'3. Look for Dana and Tucker to show Child/Adult next weekend! Ansley and KK had a blast in the Pre Hunter Rider with awesome courses and ribbons! Cool and Lizzie were great. Lydia and Becky (aka Lifey) represented H&G in the Pre Child/Adult. Uriela (aka moose) was champ and kohl was reserve Champ. Then are pony kids and thank goodness all ponies measured! Jerky and Copper were Reserve Champ in Childrens Pony (first time ever out of SS....congrat Jerky) and Champ in 11 and under. Cas and Doodies put in great trips and tied for Reserve Champ in the Greens. AA and Smucks qualified for Pony finals this weekend in the medium greens. Sexy Lexie also made her debute with great trips in childrens ponies. Funny moments....KK took a couple lefts on course, we thought she was headed to wire road. Jen paid for one of Cassies classes....she can tell you why. Sterny, Friday, had no clue what a jumper course rode like. Sterny, Sunday, won two classes...woo woo! Lydia can tell you what not to do to a single. Moose and Smucks like to buck at the gate - bad ponies! Jerky rode a flawless eq course in the jumper ring. Jen likes nacho cheese from the roller rink. Prix likes loaves of bread and childrens hamburgers. Where was Susan? Ans scoops poop for Jen. Tucker pulls rails when certain people pet him. AA asks for hugs. Can't wait to do it all over again this weekend!

Jan 2010
H&G was Storybook Farms Secret Santa. Instead of having our annual Secret Santa amongst all our riders, Susan Gaasch came up with an even better idea....H&G was Storybook Farms Secret Santa. Over the holidays H&G collected donated items and monetary donations for Storybook Farm. We took the items in January and Storybook was kind enough to give us a farm tour and we met all their wonderful horses. What a wonderful program they offer!
